ESVS provides vital services to blind and partially sighted people who live in East Sussex and Brighton and Hove. We aim to increase our members' independence, confidence, health and wellbeing and work to promote the understanding of sight loss in local communities.
Activities and services:
- Initial home assessment visit
- Independent Living Skills
- Training days: kitchen confidence, getting online etc.
- Mobility training
- Vision Awareness training
- Social Groups: 14 local social clubs in throughout East Sussex
- Sound Tennis Sussex
- Deafblind social group in Brighton
- Home Visiting service
- Transport assistance: volunteer drivers take members to social groups and training courses
- Training for volunteers
- Newsletter - available in various formats
- Hospital information service at Brighton Eye Hospital (qualified staff)
- Agent for the British Wireless for the Blind Fund

I visit a lovely blind lady who goes out on the monthly ESAB day trips and they are the only thing she leaves the house for.This lady always looks forward to these events and enjoys them thoroughly so keep up the good work!
