Organisation details
A local charity that supports blind and partially sighted people in the London Borough of Merton. It provides:
- rehabilitation services on behalf of the London Borough of Merton Social Services
- small grants to individuals
- resource centre with everyday products
- loan equipment
- computer training and Epad training
- low vision assessment services (once a month by appointment)
- home visiting service
- transport by minibus available (there is a small charge for this)
- benefits advice (Wednesdays by appointment)
- awareness training
- transcription service
- regular sporting, leisure and educational activities including a new Thursday luncheon club
- Talking Newspaper and newsletter
- works with Merton Council to provide travel training for young people to get to, from, and around school.
The Association also runs an information desk at St George's Hospital.
Volunteers are always needed.
