Organisation details


An independent charity providing support to blind and partially sighted people in Northamptonshire. Services include:
- two Sight Centres, one in Northampton and one in Kettering, providing information and advice and equipment demonstrations
- a mobile Sight Centre
- a number of social groups, providing an opportunity to socialise
- Darsdale Residential Home
- Children and Family service provides practical advice, guidance and support to families
- hospital information points
- weekly 'Sound News' talking newspaper on tape
- regular organised events and trips - including a 4-day holiday
- agent for the British Wireless for the Blind Fund
- computer training and training in how to use magnification and screenreading software
- transcription service (braille, tape, disk and large print).

The Association also runs information desks at Kettering General Hospital and Northampton General Hospital.
