Organisation details
IPSEA (Independent Parental Special Education Advice) is a charity that provides free legally based advice to families who have children with special educational needs.
All their advice is given by trained volunteers.
You can find lots of guidance and information on the IPSEA website. For more individual advice, you must call one of the two dedicated helplines (no enquiries by post, email or via the office).
1. The general Advice Line (0800 018 4016) can help with problems with schools, requesting a statutory assessment, proposed statements, annual reviews, possible disability discrimination, exclusion from school, and more.
2. The Tribunal Helpline (0845 602 9579) provides more detailed help with SEN appeals and disability discrimination claims to the Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunal.
Both Helplines close during the second half of August.
