Organisation details
SKIES supports visually impaired adults and deafblind people living in Kirklees. The aim of the service is to provide a range of resources and practical support to enable people to live as independently as possible in their own homes.
Services include:
Information, advice and guidance
Specialist assessment of needs
Rehabilitation support
Orientation and mobility training
Provision of equipment where eligibility requirements are met
Signposting to other services
Support to access community opportunities
Services can be provided in your home or in the community by appointment. The SKIES team run a number of drop-in sessions in North and South Kirklees, please contact SKIES to find out more.
Sight Kirklees Independent Enabling Service (SKIES) is funded by Kirklees Council and delivered
by BID Services, a charity promoting choice and independence.
